Wow! The children have learnt so much in K2 this week!
Hello Everyone and welcome to the K2 blog!
Firstly the children have learnt a new sound "qu" for queen, quiet, quack, quicly and square. They recorded it in their books and drew a picture of a queen. They also finger painted it and to reinforce it they have made queen collages. Each K2 class has listened to and learnt to read a different story this week and the children have produced some wonderful work related to it.
In Maths the children have learnt the difference between heavy and light things and they have all had fun putting different things in the balances! The children have also learnt how to follow the numbers and "join the dots" to make different pictures as well as practising counting on and back from 1 to 10, wrote counting up to 20, counting in 2s and continuing to add and take away small amounts with their fingers.
Tomorrow we go to the beach! Please can you send a beach umbrella with your child (clearly named) if possible. Thank you! We hope to have a lovely sunny day and we hope that you can come as we need lots of help for this trip! Please remember to send your child with: their snack, sun cream, a towel, bañadores (under their school uniform), flip flops (beach shoes), a change of clothes and a hat. We will put our photos on here next week. In the meantime we hope you enjoy looking at this week´s photos and have a fantastic day tomorrow (if you can accompany us) and if not, a wonderful weekend :-)

K2c really enjoyed using the scales to weigh different objects around the class and see which was the heaviest or the lightest.
